Child Development: Toddler: Cooked Play Dough Recipe

COOKED PLAY DOUGH

1 c. flour 1/2 c. salt 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 package of unsweetened Kool Aid powder (optional) 1 c. water 2 tbsp. oil Combine 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar and Kool Aid powder, if desired, in a large saucepan. Gradually stir in 1 cup water mixed with 2 tablespoons oil. Cook over medium to high heat, stirring constantly until a ball forms. Remove from heat, cool and knead until smooth. Store in an airtight container.

In this video, the demonstrator starts with the liquid first, 

but I prefer to begin with the dry ingredients and 

add the wet ingredients into them as in the recipe above. 

She also uses liquid food coloring which is an option to add color to the play dough.

Toddler: How To Draw

This is a great tutorial which shows how to use familiar shapes to draw a toddler.

Before you watch it turn off your sound.

Use a pencil and follow the steps to draw this toddler on the back of yyour foldable.

In your small group choose one activity to present to the class and sign up for it.

Create a mini poster that includes 

a large title, large picture, how to play and reasons why this is a good play activity for toddlers. (Think of PIES.)

You will present the posters later.
